GREENE – “The Thin Blue Line,” an ongoing television program on the local access channel in Greene, Leeds, Wales and Turner, announced the live taping of another topic from the field of emergency services.

“Protecting Our Dependents” is set for a live taping at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 17. It will feature guest speakers, Det. Michael Webber of the Attorney General’s Office and Det. Scot Bradeen of the Maine Computer Crimes Task Force.

Webber will speak about how to protect elderly Maine citizens from scams and from those who seek to benefit from and take advantage of persons with a diminished capacity.

Bradeen will cover the other end of the geriatric spectrum and speak about how to protect youth from those who wish to solicit them over the computer. Residents in the rural communities surrounding Lewiston/Auburn are encouraged to watch the show and call in with questions.

The latest show, filmed in April and hosted by Sally Hebert, brought a panel of troopers, paramedical personnel and firefighters together to discuss enhanced 911 and the importance of house numbering in rural areas. The taped show has been airing on WGLT-TV4 for the past few months.

Other shows are being planned for taping this summer and will cover bicycle safety, Inland Fishery and Wildlife topics, boating safety and a police K-9 demonstration.
