PARIS – Stephen Timothy Witham has decided to join the Army Reserve in the delayed entry program. He left for Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., on June 15 to complete nine weeks of basic training.

He will then return home to complete his senior year at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. After graduation Witham will return to Fort Leonard Wood to complete his training. He will specialize as a military police officer. He has been assigned to the 31 Bravo Unit.

After completion of training Witham will return home for a six-month cool-down period when he will decide whether to join the Army or remain in the Reserves and continue his education in the police or fire field.

He is the son of Karen and Peter Wilson of Norway and Timothy and Marisol Witham of South Paris. He is the grandson of Donna Perkins and Wilho Komulainen of Stoneham, the late George E. Kinney Sr., Jolene Witham of South Paris and Freeland and Barbara Witham of Greene.

Witham is employed by Paris Farmers Union of South Paris and the Norway and Paris fire departments.
