FARMINGTON – The Edwards-Philbrick Barracks, Veterans of World War I, Auxiliary 2689 will meet at 10 a.m. Monday, June 28, at Deer Crossing.

The annual Veterans of World War I Inc. Auxiliary department meeting was held in Farmington recently. Members of the Edwards-Philbrick Auxiliary reported participating in Memorial Day services and wreath-laying at the World War I arch on North Main Street. Member Elsa Seeger participated at the Maine Veterans Cemetery service in Augusta.

Committee reports were given, and the same officers were re-elected: Barbara Titcomb, president; Ernestine Dupont, vice president; Jean Mitchell, treasurer.; Floreice Kennedy, secretary; Rose Oliver, chaplain; Elsa Seeger, conductress; Rowena Swain, Americanism; Barbara Titcomb, legislative; and Ernestine Dupont, hospitality/community service.

Memorial services were held for Fanny Kendall, who for many years helped her uncles and aunt, Roland, Nelson and Mary Dingley, attend barracks and auxiliary meetings.

Alice Owen of Portland, 96, was sent a card signed by all. Donations were made to the coffee fund at Togus Veterans Hospital and the Veterans Cemetery Fund in Augusta.
