LEEDS – The Rural Community Action Ministry Housing Program is the recipient of the gift of a van from Oxford Networks. The program has needed a service vehicle for many years.

It will enhance the ability to serve the people’s needs by having tools and supplies available onsite when work is being done.

The ministry serves 13 towns in Oxford, Androscoggin and Kennebec counties. RCAM repairs homes for the elderly, low-income families and people with disabilities.

This summer program members will replace roofs, build ramps, repair stairs and entrances, replace windows, paint and side a house.

Mission work groups will arrive from New Hampshire, New Jersey, Connecticut, Virginia and New York.

The groups come for one week and are housed in the Leeds Community Church and the Catholic Monastery in Greene.

They bring carpenters, electricians and plumbers.
