JAY – The Jay Police Department received training on a new automated external defibrillator recently, received through Tri-County Maine Emergency Medical Services.
The device was provided to the police department at no cost to the town. All full-time officers and some reserve officers are trained yearly in its use. CES Ambulance provides the training to the officers free each year. Ray Pillsbury, CES instructor, trained all the police personnel in CPR and the use of the equipment.
The Jay Police Department now has a defibrillator unit in its front-line cruiser and overlap cruiser.
