LEWISTON – Ste. Croix Regional Federal Credit Union hosted a reception on June 1 to present books to Androscoggin County public elementary school librarians.

Ste. Croix Regional President Vicki Stuart said, “Books for Kids is Ste. Croix’s signature community project. We’re proud of the impact this program has on the children in Androscoggin County. This program has been recognized in 2003 and 2004 with the Dora Maxwell Award in recognition of outstanding achievement in a social responsibility program.”

Stuart said the credit union has been active in the Lewiston-Auburn communities for years and this is Ste. Croix’s second year for donating books to Androscoggin elementary public schools. Books were donated in 2003 to the Androscoggin County middle and high schools. She added, “Credit unions are about helping people and helping our children is an important part of that philosophy.”
