BRIDGTON – Alumni from California, Michigan, North and South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, New York and five of six New England states gathered at Bridgton Academy campus June 4 to 6 for Reunion 04.

The academy held its second annual Hall of Fame Brunch on Saturday morning. Approximately 100 guests attended as seven individuals were inducted. Alumni inductees included Charlie Fortin 41, Ernest Martikainen 44, Raymond Gadaire 47, Ed Robson 50, Ben Davis 63 and David Campo 66. Also inducted were former headmaster Robert E. Walker and longtime football coach Tom Austin.

Posthumous alumni inductees included Wendell F. Forbes 47 and Vicker V. DiGravio Jr. 59. Posthumous former faculty inducted were Fred “Fish” Ellis, John “Jackie” Fisher and Durwood “Dodie” Holman. Former headmaster Bob Walker traveled from his home in Florida for the occasion.

That evening, Headmaster David Hursty welcomed alumni to the traditional Saturday night reunion banquet. Awards were presented to Edward Webber 32 of Naples and Elinor Bean Edmunds 33 of Wolfeboro, N.H., who were celebrating their 72nd and 71st reunions respectively.

Five sisters from the Buck family of Harrison were recognized. Madelyn Buck 37 and Margaret Buck Caswell 44, both of Harrison, Miriam Buck Chaffee 39 of Michigan, Myrna Buck Colicchio 47 of Florida and Muriel Buck Cote 51 of Virginia registered to attend. Margaret worked to organize her 60th reunion class.

Local residents celebrating their 50th reunion include Phil Allen Sr., Waterford, and Jim Burnham, Naples. Prentiss Kimball and Virginia Gammon Knight, both of Waterford, celebrated their 55th.
