LOVELL – The Lovell Historical Society will host its fifth annual antique show and sale from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 11, at the Heritage Center, Route 5 North Lovell. It is the society’s most popular and successful fund-raising event.

Twenty exhibitors will display their antiques, inside the barn and under tents in the field adjacent to the house. Glen Haines, dealer and appraiser from East Baldwin, will give free verbal appraisals (free with the price of admission) limited to two an individual. The price of admission is $3. Grilled foods, beverages and dessert items will be offered for sale by the society.

As in previous years, there will be a raffle with three items to win. John Stryker, of John Stryker Furniture Restoration of Lovell, has donated a circa 1890 walnut drop-leaf table with four extra leafs.

Bill Doyle, owner of Doyle’s Antiques and Collectibles of Lovell, has contributed a Victorian period mirror with an exterior walnut frame, gold inset and original glass, measuring 24″ by 38″.

Harriet Sage, local artist and mother of Janice Cox, owner of the Center Lovell Inn, has donated an original, hand-painted oval coffee table with a lake scene with loons on one side and Maine songbirds on the other.

A book of tickets is priced at $5 for six tickets or $1 a ticket. The raffle tickets will be available for purchase the day of the show and sale.
