AUGUSTA – The Maine-ly Harmony women’s barbershop chorus was among the volunteers recognized by MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care this spring. The singers joined many other volunteers at the Senator Inn for a breakfast buffet and program.

Speakers included Nona Boyink, Diane Gilbert-Libby, Cindy Carter, Julie Haskell, Karen Douin and Bobbi Jo Welch. The blessing was given by the Rev. Raymond Anderson.

The chorus members were invited to sing for the guests at the end of the program. The theme of the annual breakfast was “Volunteers Plant the Seeds of Success.”

Women interested in singing with Maine-ly Harmony or attending a rehearsal to “try it on” are invited to rehearsals, presently held at the Gardiner Middle School music room at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays.

Members carpool from the Bangor, Waterville and Auburn areas, as well as from the greater Augusta area.
