LEWISTON – Several high school graduates received scholarship awards from the Lucien E. Martin and Georgiana M. Martin Memorial Scholarship Fund on June 10 at the Ramada Inn.
Winners were Carolyn Little, Kathleen Asselin, Renee Ouellette, Roland Hamman, Michelle Sarrazin, Allison Gagnon, Elizabeth Dulac, Jason Guerette and Patrick Duchette.
The scholarship fund was established after the death of Georgiana Martin in 1998. Since its establishment five years ago, more than $400,000 has been given out in scholarships to local students of Franco-American heritage who want to pursue an education beyond high school.
Applications for the scholarship may be obtained from the guidance offices at the local high schools as well as from Donald A. Bissonnette’s Accounting office or from ACA-Assurance (Association Canado-Americaine) www.aca.assurance.com, which administers the funds.
