LEWISTON – Four graduating seniors from Lewiston High School received scholarships from the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce this spring.

The winners were selected by their guidance offices based on achievement in academics, involvement with the community, extracurricular activities at his/her school and time and task management skills

Chamber board member Carol Albert of Manpower presented the scholarships to Kathleen Asselin, who will attend the University of Southern Maine; Renee Bissonnette, who will attend the University of New England; Nicole Brewer, who will study nursing at the University of Maine in Orono; and Jenny Huynh, who will study international relations and pre-med at the University of Maine in Orono.

The Chamber raises funds for the scholarships through 50/50 raffles at the Business After Hours, contributions from Chamber members and the annual Scholarship Scramble golf tournament.

This year more than $30,000 will be awarded to more than 40 graduating seniors from all high schools in Androscoggin County and students at Central Maine Community College.
