RUMFORD – The Smith Crossing Reunion is picking up speed, with more than 180 people signing up to attend. The reunion will be held July 24, with a cut-off date of July 17 for anyone who ever lived in Smith Crossing to sign up.

Those wishing to attend should contact Josephine Bernard at 364-7765, Terri Umbro at 364-8523 or Jim Rinaldo at 364-2983. The Planning Committee asks for a $5 donation for 13 years and older and $3 for 12 and under to defray the expenses.

There will be games for kids and grownups and awards for oldest, youngest and whoever traveled the furthest. The daytime functions will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. and there will be a dance from 7 to 11 p.m. with music by the former “IMPACT,” Barry Woods. There will be food available to buy during the day. Snacks will be furnished in the evening during the dance. There will be offsite parking, with a van to and from. Due to the large turnout expected, people are asked to bring a chair.

Smith Crossing is approximately 106 years old.
