PERU – Rod Jamison, new Peru American Legion Post 199 commander, invites all interested veterans, including those serving in Iraq or Afghanistan, to join the post.
Members are looking for help to get the Legion up and running again. They are considering the possibility of establishing Sons of American Legion, hall rental, raffles and re-establishment of an auxiliary.
Jamison said members would like ideas and volunteers to put the building in shape to rent.
Jamison’s e-mail is prez104@hotmail.com; address, Rod Jamison, 19 North Main St., Peru, ME 04290; or call 562-8799.
This is Peru American Legion Post’s 51st year, and any veteran from any town may join as long as he/she has proof of wartime enlistment.
