GILROY, Calif. – Joan A. Bellavance-Crowe, 74, passed away July 4, in Gilroy, Calif.

Mrs. Crowe was born Sept. 5, 1929, the daughter of John Bellavance and Lida (Leblance) Bellavance in Auburn.

As a child she did modeling and tap dancing on many an occasion.

She was a member of Women in Touch II of Gilroy and active in the local Elks. Her hobbies were ceramics, basket making, cake decorating, sewing and crocheting, but spending time with family, friends and her great-grandchildren were her greatest joy. She loved to travel, especially on cruises, which she did as often as she could. She also loved to spend her summer vacations in Maine with her sister, Anita, traveling up and down the coast.

Survivors include her daughter, Roxanne and her husband, Steven Mayne, of Morgan Hill, Calif.; grandchildren, Jeanette and her husband, Nicholas Crawley, of Georgia, William and his wife, Tracey Mayne, of San Jose, Calif., Steven Jr. and his wife, Mary Mayne, of Gilroy, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Joshua and Tyler Crawley, of Georgia, Trevor and Madison Mayne, of San Jose and Dean Mayne, of Gilroy; sister, Anita Desjardins, of Auburn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, William Crowe; and her sister, Yvette Bellavance Hyde of Oxnard, Calif., in November of 2000.
