HARRISON – People are invited to come “Back to the Past” at Scribner’s Mill in Harrison on Sunday, Aug. 8, to learn about early crafts and trades.
Registrants will be able to choose from 15 different workshops at the annual event, including basketry, broom making, quilting, kumihimo braiding, beginners spinning, lace knitting, tatting, primitive rug hooking, fly fishing, antique auto safety, tractor repair, care and use of planes, barrel making, blacksmithing and timber framing.

The timber-framing workshop will begin Friday evening and continue Saturday and Sunday. The finished product will be a 24-foot-by-24-foot timber frame that will be offered for sale when completed.
Proceeds from timber frame sale will be used to fund the habitat study required to restore the water-power source to operate the sawmill.
