BETHEL – Judith Whitman was appointed principal of Crescent Park School and Roger Sabine was named teaching principal at Andover Elementary School by SAD 44 directors Monday.

Both were recommended by Superintendent David Murphy and received unanimous votes from the board.

Whitman is employed as an elementary principal in the West Springfield, Mass., school system, he said.

The new administrator said she believes success is measured by hard work, “and I will work hard with the community to achieve success for all our students.”

Murphy said Sabine has had many years of experience in SAD 44, and his career here has generated great respect in the community.

“Roger knows the school, the students, and he knows their families,” Murphy said, “so I feel he is the best choice for the position.”

The board re-elected Becky Cummings of Bethel as its chairman. Elaine Cross of Bethel was chosen vice chairman and Sidney Pew of Andover was chosen vice chairman pro tempore.
