PARIS – Plans for a day lily garden, furniture store and pet cemetery are in the works for a site at 182 Paris Hill Road.
Property owner Eric Richardson appeared before the Planning Board on Tuesday for a preliminary review. Right now he just wants to get the garden and furniture store businesses going, he said.
“We talked about having a pet cemetery, but we would have to get that approved through the state,” Richardson said, noting that there are state-mandated soil requirements for such an endeavor.
Board Chairman John Barlow told Richardson he would need more detailed plans before the businesses could be approved.
Vice Chairman Russ Case added that Richardson would have to notify abutting property owners and finish his site plan application, which did not contain information on the cost of the project, the total area to be developed or how water and sewer services would be provided.
“I think that’ll keep you busy,” Case said.
Barlow, Case and board members Trudy Hamilton and Nancy Holden voted 4-0 to declare the application incomplete.
The board also vote 4-0 to delay approval of plans for a four-lot subdivision at 358 and 370 Paris Hill Road.
While the town is responsible for notifying abutting property owners when there is a new subdivision application, no letters had been sent out before Tuesday’s meeting.
Barlow said the board would send out notices tomorrow, so a public hearing can be held and the site plans can be reconsidered at an Aug. 12 meeting.
