LEWISTON – A surprise party was held recently for Paul and Carmen Fecteau of Lewiston and Sarasota, Fla., on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.
The event was planned by Gary and Sandra Fecteau, son and daughter of the couple, and was held at Martindale Country Club in Auburn.
Gary Fecteau was toastmaster and grandchildren James and Christie Fecteau circulated the guest book. Tammy Fecteau sang a song dedicated to her grandparents.
Mr. Fecteau and the former Carmen Lachance were married on June 26, 1954, at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Lewiston. She is employed at Catholic Charities Maine in Lewiston and he is employed at Lee Auto Mall in Auburn.
Jeanne Ricker and Rita Fecteau, members of the original wedding party, attended the event.
Guests attended from Biddeford, Saco, Old Orchard Beach, New Hampshire, Florida and Montana. The couple’s oldest grandchild, Michael Bolduc Jr., serving in the U.S. Army at Ft. Benning, Ga., was unable to attend but sent best wishes.
