WASHINGTON (AP) – Sixteen-ounce packages of Stouffer’s brand frozen chicken pot pie imported from Canada are being recalled because they may contain small pieces of plastic and glass, U.S. officials said Friday.

The recall was announced by the importer, Nestle Prepared Foods Company of Solon, Ohio, and by the Agriculture Department after the company reported consumer complaints about the product.

The recall includes 16-ounce packages of Stouffer’s Chicken Pot Pie. No other sizes or varieties of Stouffer’s products are affected. The packages bear the code “445” inside the Canadian mark of inspection, as well as the UPC code “13800-10635.” They are also labeled with the production code “4066VH,” followed by a letter.

The recalled pot pies were produced March 6 and distributed to stores nationwide.

Consumers may contact the Nestle Consumer Services hot line toll-free at 1-800-447-1427 with questions about the recall.
