CANTON – The Apollus Jones family reunion will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, at the Canton Municipal Building

There will be a potluck meal at noon, so all are asked to bring a food dish for the buffet table. Participants are also responsible for their own drinks, chairs, entertainment and children.

There will be a 50/50 raffle. All are asked to report complete addresses of all family members to Lorelei at 890-4871.

Worthley family

WELD – The Worthley family reunion (Phillips branch) will be held starting at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 9, at Mount Blue State Park, Webb Beach.

Allanach family

CANTON – The 14th reunion of the descendants of Christopher and Eva Allanach was held at the home of Ruth and Betty York, with 47 family members present.

Vice President Rachel Carlton presided over the business meeting. The following officers were elected: president, Rachel Carlton; vice president, Dana Carlton; secretary/treasurer, Joyce Carlton. Diane Pelletier read the names of deceased members followed by a moment of silent prayer.

The senior member attending was Christine Allanach of South Portland and the youngest was Scout David Sylvester of Greene. John and Bonnie Harbottle of Wells traveled the most miles.

The next reunion will be held at the home of Ruth and Betty York on July 9, 2005.

Door prizes was won by Jack Pelletier of Livermore Falls, Kaylee Sylvester of Greene and George LoBozzo of New Gloucester.

Family members attended from Canton, Cumberland Center, Greene, Hartford, Livermore, Livermore Falls, Mexico, New Gloucester, North Jay, Norway, Rumford, South Portland, Steep Falls, Wells, West Sumner and West Paris.

Couture meeting

WILTON – The 13th annual Couture reunion was held on July 10 at Kineowatha Park. Twelve of the original 15 children of Anise and Rosaire Couture attended. There were 115 family members present.

The reunion, which ran from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., included games for adults and children. In the afternoon the children played games to win prizes. The children and the adults played a game of egg toss followed by a water can race. A potty tournament, won by Steve and Sonya Arsenault. The cribbage tournament was won by Rachel Desmarias and Shawn Couture Sr. Gloria Breton won the Couture lottery.

A meeting followed in the hall when it was voted the family would meet again at Kineowatha Park on July 9. Kim Couture was re-elected president. It was also voted to have a 50/50 drawing to help defray costs of the reunion. After the meetings names were drawn for gifts for children and adults. Every child left with a gift.
