Grange meeting

WEST PARIS – West Paris Grange 298 met at the hall for a regular meeting on Aug. 6. The next meeting will be the annual Grange cookout at the home of Earl and Amy Andrews on Allen Hill Road in Oxford, with a 5:30 p.m. supper followed by planning next year’s program.

The monthly West Paris Grange supper will be held at the hall, 4 Church St., at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21. The prices are $6 for adults; $3 for children.

Hunter course

PARIS – A hunter safety training course will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, Aug. 21 and 28, at the South Paris Fire Hall. Students ages 10 to 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the full program. Authorized instructors are donating their time. Crafters wanted

NORWAY – Stone-Smart Auxiliary, American Legion, will hold a craft fair from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at the hall, Main Street. Members are looking for crafters. Tables are $10 each. Anyone interested should call Joyce Clifford at 527-2244 or Marjy Sessions at 743-2197.

OXFORD – An all-terrain vehicle safety training program, sponsored by the Rock O’ Dundee Riders, will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, at the Rock O’ Dundee clubhouse. WOODSTOCK – The Woodstock Historical Society held its annual History Day on Aug. 7 with modest attendance. The event was organized by Vicki May.

Annella Burnham and Mary Billings had charge of the food sale with a good variety supplied by the members. Curator Larry Billings gave tours. He also provided roses for decoration and some handouts.

In the parking lot the following craftspeople set up tables: Madeline Hunt, Diane Hunt, Elena Noyes, Joyce Howe, Jerry Shimamura, Elizabeth Whitman, Vicki May, Alma Merrill and Florence Merrill. There was everything from homemade jams to watercolor paintings. Earlier in the year the society had a successful flea market and some of those who set up tables there returned.

Election of officers will be Sept. 11. The museum is open Saturdays 1 to 4 p.m. until the end of August.
