LEWISTON – A surprise 50th wedding anniversary dinner party was held recently for Lionel and Rita Potvin of Lewiston and Sarasota, Fla.
A limousine champagne ride with their children brought them to Marco’s Restaurant, where family and friends were waiting. The dining room was decorated with gold balloons and a dozen red roses. A “wedding photo” cake was enjoyed by all attending.
The event was planned by their son, Paul Potvin and daughters, Denise Talarico, Susan Bergeron, Joan St. Hilaire and Linda Castonguay.
Their son, Paul, was toastmaster and a photo album of their 50 years together was circulated.
Mr. Potvin and the former Rita Beaudoin were married on May 1, 1954, at St. Mary’s Church in Lewiston.
Guests included 14 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Relatives attended from as far away as Sarasota, Fla., and Townsend, Mass.
