FARMINGTON – Glendon Montell Smith, 90, of Farmington, died Friday morning, Aug. 27, at the Edgewood Rehabilitation & Living Center.

He was born, June 1, 1914, in New Sharon, a son of Wilbur and Elizabeth Smith. Mr. Smith attended New Sharon schools graduating in 1932. He went on to become a registered pharmacist in 1936.

On Oct. 31, 1937, he married, Beryl Ranger. Mrs. Smith died May 5.

Mr. Smith worked at Tarbox & Whittier Drug Store in Farmington and later at J.E. Gould. He purchased Freeman Pharmacy in Wilton in March of 1962, and later sold it in 1971. In his retirement, he worked part-time at Farmington Drug.

He was a member of the Masons and enjoyed hunting and fishing at his camp in Eustis as well as gardening.

He is survived by three sons, Ronald W. Smith and his wife, Sally, of Belgrade Lakes, and Richard R. Smith and Alden D. Smith and his wife, Diane, all of Farmington; four grandchildren, Randy and his wife, Patti, Steve, Hillary and Jessie Smith; and two great-grandchildren, Danielle Smith and Riley Paige Smith.

He was predeceased by a brother, Clayton.
