LEWISTON – The Franco American Heritage Center at St. Mary’s will host a gathering of “La Rencontre” du Vendredi Francais or French Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at the center.

The goal of the day is to speak French for an hour and a half, have a lunch and a short musical French program.

The September luncheon will be sponsored by Central Maine Medical Center and it will feature lobster rolls, tossed salad, chips, beverage and dessert. For those not wanting lobster rolls, other sandwiches will be available. Cost is $6.50 a person.

The entertainer will be Roger Bouffard and his organ and he will present a variety of familiar French songs. Those wanting to may join him.

The gatherings have been averaging around 100 people and everyone is invited.
