PARIS – Oxford County’s budget process begins this week with a series of caucuses set for selection of members for the budget committee.
Commissioner Fred Kennard will hold the District Two caucus at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the conference room at the Rumford Municipal Building. District Two encompasses the towns of Andover, Byron, Canton, Dixfield, Gilead, Hartford, Lincoln Plantation, Magalloway Plantation, Mexico, Newry, Peru, Roxbury, Rumford, Sumner and Upton; and the unorganized territory of North Oxford
Commissioner Chairman Albert “Jim” Carey will hold the District Three caucus at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the commissioners’ chambers at the Oxford County Courthouse in Paris. District Three covers the towns of Buckfield, Greenwood, Hebron, Otisfield, Oxford, Paris, Stoneham, West Paris and Woodstock; and the unorganized territories of Milton and Albany townships.
Commissioner Steven Merrill will hold the District One caucus at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Lewis D. Hill Memorial Library in North Lovell. District One encompasses the towns of Bethel, Brownfield, Denmark, Fryeburg, Hanover, Hiram, Lovell, Norway, Porter, Stow, Sweden and Waterford; and the unorganized territories of Batchelders Grant and Mason Township.
The budget committee will meet with commissioners in October to hear proposals from county department heads.
