AUBURN – Marie M. Parent, 96, formerly of 14 Maple Point St., died Sunday, Aug. 29, at Sarah Frye Home with her family by her side.

She was born at Grand Isle, May 24, 1908, the daughter of Noel and Christine Ouellette StJean. She was married Feb. 22, 1927, to Saul Parent who predeceased her March 25, 1998. She was a longtime member of the Auburn Catholic Community at Sacred Heart Church and the Golden Age Club.

She was a devoted wife to her deceased husband of 71 years, beloved mother and grandmother to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cooking. Her blueberry dumplings were second to none! She will be dearly missed by her entire family.

She is survived by three daughters, Solange Guay and husband, Paul, of California, Viola Dubois and husband, Normand, of Lewiston and Geri Roberts and husband, Ed, of Hebron; two sons, Melvin Parent, of Newington, Conn., and Rod Parent and wife, June, of Florida; 13 grandchildren, Germaine Pistritto and husband Mario, Susanne Langdren, Roger Parent and wife Jill all of Connecticut, Lisa Hardison and husband, Troy, of Florida, Michael Guay, of California, Pamela Weider and husband, Jerry, of Washington, Debra Jordan and husband, Bill, of California, Cheryl Dycio and husband, George, of Lewiston, Brian Dubois, of Bangor, Glenn Dehetre and wife, Alison, of Auburn, Kim Sands and husband, Greg, of Minot, Karen Ward and husband, Jeff, of Auburn, Greg Dehetre, of Auburn; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a grandson, Daniel Parent.
