AUBURN – The wedding of Tia Marie Byrd and Jared Michael Buckingham was held at 6 p.m. on July 3 at Lost Valley Lodge. Sonia Strout, notary public, officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Bob and Denise Byrd of Peru. The bridegroom is the son of Mike and Kathy Buckingham of Sabattus and Janet and Bruce Moore of Topsham.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a strapless corset gown with gold embroidery and Swarovski crystals and beading along the bodice and butterfly sleeves. She carried a bouquet of white lilies, stephanotis and cascading English ivy.

Brianna Byrd, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor and bridesmaids were Danielle Byrd, sister of the bride, and Christina Moore, sister of the bridegroom.

Pete Lavigne, friend of the bridegroom, performed the duties of best man and ushers were Travis Arsenault, cousin of the bridegroom, and Adam Buckingham, brother of the bridegroom.

A reception followed at Lost Valley Lodge, after which the couple traveled to Cancun in Mexico. They are residing in Auburn.

The bride is a 1998 graduate of Mountain Valley High School in Rumford and a 2002 graduate of Colby College. She is employed at the Margaret Murphy Center for Children in Lewiston and is cheerleading coach at Greely High School.

The bridegroom is a 1999 graduate of Mount Ararat High School and is currently attending bridge education. He is employed at Rainbow Bicycle and Fitness in Auburn and at Lost Valley.
