RACH GIA, Vietnam – The wedding of Tu Ngoc Nguyen and John Richard Gagnon was held at 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 11 outside at the bride’s home in Vietnam. Quon La, uncle of the bride, officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Gagnon is the daughter of Hoang Ngoc Nguyen and Thi Nga Nguyen of Rach Gia, Vietnam. Mr. Gagnon is the son of Lionel and Genevieve Gagnon of Lewiston.

The bride wore a traditional red silk dress and headpiece for the wedding, a white gown with a train for the wedding meal, and a gold dress for the dance party. About 400 people attended the ceremony, including friends and family from throughout Vietnam and the United States.

Attendants for the bride were her sisters, Thu Nguyen and Phong Nguyen. Attendants for the bridegroom were Cam Nguyen, brother of the bride, and Jimmy La, an American cousin.

A reception followed at the home of the bride, after which the couple traveled to Ho Chi Minh City. They are residing in Lewiston.

The bride was educated in Rach Gia, Vietnam, schools. She is a student of cosmetology.

The bridegroom received a bachelor’s degree from Southern Utah University and is employed at Lewiston High School, Lewiston Recreation Dept. and WRE Property Management of Windham.
