LEWISTON – Irene Y. Belanger, 65, of Spring Street, Auburn, died Saturday, Sept. 11, at Central Maine Medical Center.

Irene was born in Lewiston on July 27, 1939, the daughter of Ernest and Clara (Caron) Morrell.

Although she spent most of her years as a homemaker she did find employment at Burger King for many years, making many friends along the way.

She was a member of East Auburn Baptist Church. She enjoyed knitting, playing beano and cards, going to garage sales, and anything to do with arts and crafts. Time spent with her children and grandchildren was her greatest pleasure.

Irene raised seven children and they always came first. She had the biggest heart and always gave without any expectations or complaints.

She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Boudreau and husband, Dennis, of Greene, Lisa Sanborn and her husband, Jay, of New Gloucester; five sons, Richard Belanger, of Lewiston, Raymond Belanger, of Auburn, Rodney Belanger, of Lewiston, Robert Belanger and his wife, Diana, of Lewiston, Roland Belanger and wife, Laurie, of Lisbon; nine grandchildren, Alicia, Renee, Nicholas, Erica, Marina, Aaron, Keileigh, Jaykob, and Megan.

She was predeceased by her sister, Aline Couture, of Lewiston.

Mom, you will forever live in our hearts, you have taught us courage and most importantly the importance of family love. Thank you.
