LEWISTON – Kids Day America, a day filled with door prizes, face painting, balloons and wellness education, will take place from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at Sasseville Chiropractic, 513 Sabattus St. Parking will be onsite and across the street at Androscoggin Savings Bank.
Sponsored in part by Dr. Chandra Sasseville of Sasseville Chiropractic Wellness Center, Kids Day America is affiliated with the international event focusing on children’s health, safety and environmental awareness. This year’s event, held after the Maine Children’s Cancer Walk, is also a benefit for the Lewiston Police Department DARE program.
Children can pick up free identification cards, which will include fingerprinting from the Lewiston Police Department, health and dental screening along with their own personal Polaroid.
There will also be free balloons, temporary tattoos, face painting, environmental coloring books and 5- to 10-minute massages. Hot dogs and lemonade will be provided. Catering will be done the Lewiston Regional Technical Center Culinary Arts Department.
The Lewiston Fire Department will be present with a firetruck. United Ambulance Service and Maine Children’s Cancer program will have booths, and “Lewey” the Maineiacs mascot will arrive for noon.
