OXFORD – Country music singer Michael Twitty, son of the late Conway Twitty, will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at the Oxford County Fair on the Pottle Road. Twitty will replace the previously scheduled country western singer Margo Smith, who had to cancel her performance.

Soap Box Derby race Sunday

WEST PARIS – The Arthur Dean Memorial Soap Box Derby Race will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, at the track next to the Town Office. Registration and weigh-in is at 10 a.m. There are no entry fees. The Snack Shack will be open for food, including hot dogs and hamburgers. Proceeds from food sales benefit the Soap Box Derbies. Republicans set meeting

WOODSTOCK – Woodstock Republicans are invited to a meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, at the home of Joan and Norman Putnam. The purpose is to complete plans for the Oxford County Republican meeting, which will be held at the Grange Hall in Bryant Pond on Tuesday, Oct. 12.

Paris lodge meeting

PARIS – Paris Lodge 94 A.F. & A.M. will meet beginning with supper at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, at the Veterans of Foreign Wars hall on East Main Street. This will be Gripe Night.
