LEWISTON – Wayne A. Martin, 62, a resident of Ridge Road, Wales, died Sunday, Sept. 19, following a long illness at Central Maine Medical Center where he had been a patient overnight.

The son of the late William R. and Hazel E. (Gayton) Martin, he was born May 30, 1942, in Sabattus. He attended Sabattus High School and worked for 35 years at the Thomas J. Anthoine Co., Inc. in Lewiston, retiring in 1998.

He was a member of the Sabattus Free Baptist Church and the East Auburn Men’s Club. He enjoyed going camping, hunting, snowmobiling, mini bike riding, four wheeling, fishing and going to Moosehead Lake.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Jeannette Foss, of Wales and her children, Carol Oliver and her son, Joshua, of Augusta, Albert “Bucky” Foss and his children, Tonya, Fawn and Sarah Foss, of Palermo and Robin Foss, of Augusta; a son, Bill Martin and his children, Joshua, Jacob and Jonah Martin, of Sabattus; two daughters, Ronda Fournier and her husband, Don and their children, Ryan Michaud and Chad and Caleb Fournier, of Sabattus and Nancy Martin, of Naples, Fla.; a sister, Laurel Footer and her husband, Kenneth, of Lewiston.

He was predeceased by a half-brother, William Martin, and a sister, Geraldine Wood. He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews.
