SOUTH PARIS – Gregory Pennell, 53, of Norway died Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Market Square Health Care Center.

He was born in Portland on Dec. 24, 1950, the son of Edward L. and Mildred A. (Powers) Pennell.

He attended Cathedral Grammar School and Junior High and was a member of the choir at Cathedral Church.

Greg did not attend high school due to depression as a result of losing his parents at an early age. Even through adversity he eventually returned to school and received his high school diploma.

He worked at National Wood Products where he was Employee of the Year. He was known as a hard worker.

He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and swimming. He loved people and was a member of the Paris Hill Bible Church.

He is survived by a sister, Shirley L. Brooks, of Raymond; two brothers, Gary Pennell, of East Waterboro and Edward Pennell, of Saco; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Diane Seger; and a brother, Earl Pennell.
