PARIS – Oxford Hills Adult Education will offer a copper foil method of stained glass taught in an eight-week course by local artist Gale Peterson-Rivers. It will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. starting on Wednesday, Sept. 29. In the first two sessions, participants will make a sun catcher, then move on to a larger project of their choice. Students will purchase the glass for their project, but all other tools and materials will be provided. Advanced students are welcome. WEST PARIS – West Paris Baptist Church Sunday school has opened for the year with the following serving as teachers: Tom Standard, David Broberg, Sandy Broberg, Cheryl Bacon and Kenneth Bacon.

Benefit event

LOCKE MILLS – A benefit supper/dance will start at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at the Jackson-Silver Post, American Legion, Gore Road, to benefit Richard G. Felt, band leader and master of Franklin Grange 124. The supper is being sponsored by members of the band, members of Franklin Grange 124,West Paris Grange 298 and Jackson Silver Post and friends and relatives. The charge will be $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. The band will provide music during the evening.
