LEWISTON – A surprise 50th wedding anniversary party was held on Aug. 20 at Martindale Country Club for Adrien and Connie Labrie of Lewiston and Tripp Lake. The dinner and dance was planned by their sons, Dan and wife, Sherry, and Tom Labrie.
The wedding cake was an exact replica of the original wedding cake. Sandi Panati, Mrs. Labrie’s sister, made all the personal invitations and a CD with many songs of the 1950s. The label on the CD was the original wedding picture of the couple and the date of their marriage, Aug. 7, 1954. Each guest attending received a copy of the CD.
Guests included six grandchildren and relatives and friends from as far as Connecticut and Massachusetts. Gifts were sent from Puerto Rico and Connecticut.
Mr. Labrie retired from Bushmann, formerly Diamond Machine. Mrs. Labrie retired from General Electric in Auburn and is currently employed at L.L. Bean.
