LIVERMORE FALLS – The speaker on a planned trip to Canada in October for prescription drugs was unable to attend Monday’s meeting of the Livermore Falls-Jay Senior Citizens. Hopefully the speaker will attend at a later date.

Monday’s session, the first of the season, was attended by 37 members with Chairwoman Shirley Couture in charge.

She announced that Monday will be the last time to sign up for the SeniorsPlus meal to be served on Monday, Sept. 27. The menu will include meatball stew.

SeniorsPlus has three trips planned: one to Kenny Rogers Christmas on Dec. 16 at the Cumberland Civic Center, to Indianhead on Dec. 6 and to the Portland Symphony’s Magic of Christmas on Dec. 17.

They are all day trips and more information may be obtained by calling SeniorsPlus at 645-3315.

Doris DeMillo also announced a trip to Washington, D.C., on May 12 to 16, 2005, which would include several trips to points of interest. More information can be obtained by contacting her.

Shirley Toncer will serve as chairwoman in charge of entertainment on special occasions. She will be assisted by Ellie Mitchell and Shirley Couture.

Reported on the sick list were Mary Groleau, Lorraine Ellingwood who has had surgery, Fred Legere who is recuperating at home after being hospitalized, and Alice Duguay who is in a nursing home.

Thanks-yous were received from Special Olympics for a donation and from the Livermore Falls High School baseball team in memory of Tony Luciano, who was a player in years past.
