LEWISTON – Camille J. Martin, 72, of the Auburn Road, Peru, died Thursday, Sept. 30, at the Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston

He was born in Rumford on March 29, 1932, a son of Samuel and Alice (LeBlanc) Martin, and had attended Mexico schools.

Camille had been employed as an engineer in the steam plant at Boise Cascade Paper Company in Rumford for many years until retirement in 1987.

He was a Communicant of St. Theresa Church; 40 Year Member of the Rumford Falls Aerie # 1248, F.O.E.; Life member LeParesseux Snowshoe Club.

He enjoyed riding his bike, playing pool with his friends, fishing, summers in Prince Edward Island with his wife, and time with his family. He also was a big fan of the Red Sox and the Patriots.

He was married in Mexico in Nov. of 1973 to the late Eleanor Arsenault who died in Peru on Oct. 16, 2003.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary Blouin, and husband, David, of Rumford, Deborah Giroux, and husband, Louis, of Rumford, Sheryl Briggs, and husband, Richard, of Mexico; five sons, Don Martin, of Massachusetts, Joseph Capponi, of Brewer, Peter Capponi, and wife, Sharon, of Rumford, Andrew Capponi, and wife, Jackie, of Milton, Vt., Augustine “Gus” Capponi Jr., of Milton, Vt.; three sisters, Anita Theriault, and husband, Leon, of Portland, Cecile Laflamme, and husband, Paul, of Gorham, N.H., Bertha Arsenault, of Peru; two brothers, Aime Martin, and wife, Joan, of Rumford, Raymond Martin, of Turner; and many grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Dennis Martin; and two brothers, Leo and Gerard Martin.
