OAKLAND – Nate Guerette scored on a corner kick from the lower left hand corner to lift Edward Little to a 2-1 victory over Messalonskee in KVAC boys’ soccer action Thursday.

Mark St. Hilaire also put one into the net for the Red Eddies (5-3-1) to complete the scoring.

B.J. Lavasseur handled netkeeping duties once again, turning away 15 saves while posting the win.

Matthew Dawes scored the Eagles’ lone goal in the first half.

Rangeley 7, Islesboro 2

RANGELEY – Justin Gallant scored a hat trick to lead Rangeley to a 7-2 victory over Islesboro.

Tyler Philbrook also added two for the Lakers (5-0-2). Rangeley also recieved a goal from Seth Jani and David Raymond.

Buckfield 3, Valley 2

BUCKFIELD – Danny Hayes scored the game-winning goal on a pass from Chris Barnaby with 28 seconds left in overtime to give Buckfield a 3-2 win over Valley.

Valley’s Tyler Giberson scored two goals, including the game-tying goal with five seconds left in regulation.

Danny Hayes and Chris Barnaby also scored a goal apiece in the first half for the Bucks (4-4-1).

Lewiston 5, Gardiner 0

LEWISTON – Dave Labonte recorded four goals Thursday to lead Lewiston to a 5-0 romp over Gardiner in a KVAC boys’ soccer matchup.

Labonte scored three times in the first half, then he and Nate Farnsworth put it away after the break. Brian Nason and Keenan White combined for four saves in net.

Kolby Peckham turned away 12 shots in net for the Tigers (2-7).

Field hockey

Edward Little 4, Mt. Ararat 1

AUBURN – Katelyn Perkins netted a pair of goals to lead Edward Little to a 4-1 victory over Mt. Ararat in a KVAC field hockey matchup Thursday.

Gina Gaetani and Ali Forgues also tallied goals for the Red Eddies (7-2) to complete the scoring.

Katie Ouellette made 13 saves in net to notch the win. Janine Brown scored the Eagles’ (0-9) lone goal with 10:34 remaining in regulation, while Michelle Glenn turned away 12 shots between the posts.

Oxford Hills 3, Lewiston 0

SOUTH PARIS – Teira Durgin found the back of the net on a pass from Alicia Flick as Oxford Hills defeated Lewiston 3-0 in Class A field hockey action Thursday.

Brianna Thompson and Kaymala Eells also scored goals for the Vikings (5-5).

Oxford Hills’ goalkeeper Val Seams needed only six saves to record the shutout.

Lincoln 2, Oak Hill 1

LINCOLN – Niki Poland found the back of the net with 15 minutes left in regulation to lift Lincoln to a 2-1 victory over Oak Hill in more KVAC field hockey action Thursday.

Nicole Russell made 11 saves in net for the Eagles (2-6-1) to earn the win.

Elyse Emery scored the Raiders’ (0-9) lone goal on a pass from Audrey Grass with 16 minutes left in the game. Frankie Curtis put in a strong effort in net, turning away 17 shots.

Mt. Blue 1, Brunswick 0

BRUNSWICK – Heidi Judkins found the back of the net on a pass from Michelle Oswald with 1:42 left in double overtime to give Mt. Blue a 1-0 win over Brunswick Thursday. Cougars’ (6-4) Ashley Lewya made eight stops for the shutout. Sarah Wyman had 10 saves for the Dragons (1-9).

Girls’ soccer

Oxford Hills 2, Mt. Blue 1

FARMINGTON – Whitney Linindoll and Kellie Sunderland scored a goal apiece to lift Oxford Hills to a 2-1 win against Mt. Blue Thursday.

Stephanie Smith netted the lone goal for Mt. Blue. All the goals in the game were four minutes apart. Aly Fox made six saves in net for the Vikings. Mt. Blue goalie Caitlin Scott had 17 saves.

Messalonskee 1, EL 0

AUBURN – Kate Tonge scored on a breakaway goal 2:44 into the second half to lift Messalonskee to a 1-0 victory over Edward Little in a KVAC girls’ soccer matchup Thursday.

Katie O’Leary needed only two saves to notch the shutout.

Brittney French handled netminding duties for the Red Eddies (5-3-1), turning away three shots.

Dirigo 3, Monmouth 0

MONMOUTH – Brooke Weston netted a pair of goals to power Dirigo to a 3-0 win over Monmouth in MVC girls’ soccer action Thursday.

Katie Hutchinson also tallied a goal for the Cougars (9-0-1) to round out the scoring. CC Chow made 11 saves in net to record the victory. Courtney Barrett turned away eight shots in net for the Mustangs (4-5).

Lewiston 3, Gardiner 0

GARDINER – Martel netted a pair of goals to lead Lewiston to a 3-0 victory over Gardiner in a girls’ soccer Thursday.

Mallory Long also scored for the Blue Devils (6-3). Lewiston’s Ali Coleman needed only four stops in net for the shutout. Lindsey Thorton made 14 saves for the Tigers.

St. Doms 1, Sacopee Valley 0

SOUTH HIRAM – Autumn Bell scored the game-winning goal on a pass from Danielle Moreau as St. Doms defeated Sacopee valley 1-0 in a girls’ soccer matchup.

Danielle Theriault made three saves to record the shutout.
