LEWISTON – The following cases were closed recently in 8th District Court.

Frank W. Smith, 40, West Paris, charged with operating watercraft without safety equipment on May 15, fined $100 by default.

Jonathan Smith, 24, Lewiston, charged with two counts of assault on April 12, both charges dismissed.

Christopher J. Sockbeson, 20, Lewiston, charged with consuming liquor by a minor on April 22, fined $200 by default.

Brandon A. Soper, 21, Livermore, charged with operating an ATV at an imprudent speed and reckless operation of an ATV on April 25, and driving to endanger and operating an ATV on a public way on May 14, first charge dismissed; found guilty on second charge, fined $250; third charge dismissed; offense committed on fourth charge, fined $250.

Jason Soucy, 30, Sabattus, charged with negotiating a worthless instrument on July 9, 2003, dismissed.

Philip Speller, 62, Lewiston, charged with engaging a prostitute on June 8, found guilty, fined $250.

Robert E. Spencer, 31, Auburn, charged with operating under the influence on May 26, found guilty, fined $400, sentenced to 96 hours and license suspended for 90 days.

Tressa L. Sprague, 25, Lewiston, charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child on April 16, found guilty on all charges, sentenced to 120 days with all but four days suspended and one year probation for each charge.

Nicole Sylvester, 24, Greene, charged with operating a vehicle without a license on June 2, dismissed.

Michael A. Tardif, 25, Poland, charged with operating under the influence on May 22, fined $400, sentenced to 96 hours and license suspended for 90 days.

Mark Tenneson, 43, Livermore Falls, charged with violation of privacy on April 1, found guilty, sentenced to 90 days with all but four days suspended and one year probation.

Vincent C. Thomas, 33, Auburn, charged with operating under the influence on April 19, found guilty, fined $500 and license suspended for 90 days.

Asa Troy Thorne, 31, Raymond, charged with operating under the influence and operating after suspension on Dec. 22, both charges dismissed.

Joshua Thornton, 22, Gardiner, charged with theft of services on Feb. 24, 2000, dismissed.

Eric N. Tibbetts, 29, Lewiston, charged with violating license, permit or certificate restriction on June 5, waived, fined $100.

Marie Towers, 25, Rumford, charged with assault, refusing to submit to arrest or detention and refusing to give personal information to an officer on July 17, found guilty on first charge, fined $300; second charge dismissed; found guilty on third charge, fined $150.

Stacy L. Turcotte, 33, Jay, charged with operating under the influence, operating after suspension and attaching false motor vehicle plates on April 10, probation violation on first charge, sentenced to 60 days and probation partially revoked and continued; second and third charges dismissed.

Stephen M. Versluis Jr., 20, Sabattus, charged with threatening display of a weapon on June 3, dismissed.

Timothy Whitney, 24, Auburn, charged with failing to have a fishing license or permit on June 7, 2003, found guilty, fined $74.

Andrew Wildes, 51, Sabattus, charged with criminal mischief and threatening display of a weapon on May 22, both charges sent to jury trial.

Todd A. Withers, 39, Mechanic Falls, charged with operating under the influence on May 19, sent to jury trial.

Pamela J. Yomoah, 20, Auburn, charged with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer on June 4, sent to jury trial.
