LEWISTON – Evelyn L. Mixer, 81, of Auburn, went to meet our Lord Thursday, Oct. 7, at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 19, 1922, in Auburn, the daughter of Leon and Abbie Damon Johnson. She was a graduate of Edward Little High School in 1941. She worked at local shoe shops most of her life.

Evelyn was a former member of the Auburn Grange. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, puzzles, watching the Red Sox, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and being near the ocean.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Labonte of Auburn; sons, George Cleaveland and wife, Pam, of Poland, and Sherwood “Woody” Cleaveland and his wife, Colleen, of Casco; sisters, Ona Osgood of Amesbury, Mass., Marion Cooper of Sacramento, Calif., and Mildred Frye of Poland; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Lewis; sisters, Bea and Florence; brother, Lucien; and grandson, Andy.
