GARDINER – The wedding of Hilary Rae Nichols and Brian Michael Belanger was held on June 26 at Christ Episcopal Church in Gardiner. The Rev. Jacob Fles officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Belanger is the daughter of Sharon Nichols and David Libby of Gardiner and the late Mark Nichols. Mr. Belanger is the son of Michael and Helen Belanger of Mechanic Falls.

The bride, given in marriage by her stepfather, David Libby, wore a satin ball gown with Cathedral train. She carried a bouquet of lilies, peonies and roses.

Serving as maid of honor for her friend was Stephanie Geis and bridesmaids were Tonya, Monica and Coleen Libby, sisters, Brianna Blodgett, cousin, Kristy Carter, friend, and Jordan Kerby, niece. Mikayla Wood and Ciera Crain, nieces, were the flower girls.

Brad Gagne performed the duties of best man for his friend and ushers were Andrew Wiggin, Dustin Worth and Joshua Breau, friends, Jacob Swan, cousin, Cody Kerby, nephew, and Johnny Swan, cousin.

A reception followed at Le Club Calumet in Augusta, after which the couple traveled to the Outer Banks of North Carolina and Virginia Beach, Va. They are residing in Mechanic Falls.

The bride is a graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She is currently attending the University of Southern Maine for a graduate degree in education.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Maine Maritime Academy with a bachelor’s degree in nautical science.
