TURNER – SAD 52 Adult and Community Education will feature an American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED class on Monday, Oct. 18. Participants will be introduced to the automated external defibrillator.

The one-half-hour of movement class will meet on Monday and Wednesday using weights, dynabands, stepboards, Pilates, stretching and medicine ball.

A three-part program through Advocates for Children, designed for parents of young children ages 1 through 4, will start Monday, Oct. 18.

A beginner dog obedience class will teach owners how to have a courteous dog. Correction of behavior problems will be offered. This six-week class will begin Oct. 18.

A new class this year will be “Cooking with Jeff,” also starting on Oct. 18. Jeff Ward, an experienced chef, will offer many ideas for creating delicious meals. The first week students will make salads and appetizers. The second class will emphasize entrees, and desserts will be the main feature of the third week.

The following classes will start on Tuesday, Oct. 19:

“The Joys of Menopause” will be a one-night presentation consisting of a discussion of what happens during the various menopausal stages of a woman’s life. There will be emphasis on how to stay healthy throughout all of those stages.

Intermediate stamping techniques will be taught while creating winter-themed projects. Tools for stamping will be used to make Christmas, Valentine and thinking-of-you cards and gift boxes for any occasion.

On Wednesday, Oct. 20, there will be an American Red Cross Infant/Child CPR class where participants can learn about recognizing emergencies, care of multiple victims, common illnesses/injuries and maintaining a safe work area.
