KINGFIELD – Blaine Ray, the inventor of Total Physical Response with Storytelling, will hold a one-day workshop on Thursday, Oct. 14, at the Inn on Winter’s Hill. TPRS is a creative and effective way of learning a foreign language. The approach applies the latest brain research to learning and specifically language acquisition. The SAD 58 Foreign Language Department has been using the method and staff decided to bring Ray here. Foreign language teachers will attend from around the state. Ray will coach participants on how to do the interactive teaching.
Rummage sale
RANGELEY – A two-day rummage sale will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, and 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, in the Episcopal Church undercroft, Main Street. A large selection of baby clothes will be featured as well as ski and other winter clothing. There will be jeans, slacks and tops for men, women and young people. The boutique offers specialty items.
