AUBURN – The Auburn Art Club will meet at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, at the High Street Congregational Church. Chairwoman Judith Johnson announced the meeting would be “a surprise.” Serving on her committee are Virginia Johnson and Jane Linnell.

Rebekah Lodge

AUBURN – Liberty Rebekah Lodge 94 will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, at the Odd Fellows Hall, 50 Elm St. A sandwich, salad and dessert luncheon will be served at 6 p.m.

The new officers will fill the chairs for the first time after installation. Noble Grand Beulah Allen has asked that all officers dress for the occasion. The new District 3 deputy president and marshal will make their official visit. The deputy president will outline the program of the new Rebekah Assembly president, who takes office on Friday, Oct. 15, at the Rebekah Assembly of Maine session in Bangor.

Officers of Liberty for 2004-2005 are: Beulah Allen, noble grand; Mercena Abrams, vice grand; Esther Tucker, secretary; Cynthia Maxwell, financial secretary; Arlene Simons, treasurer; Lucille Nelson, warden; Pam Black, conductor; Priscilla Campbell, chaplain.

Also, Donald Nason, musician; Eleanor Helwig, right supporter of the noble grand; Mildred Bates, left supporter of the noble grand, Margaret Sjostrom, right supporter of the vice grand; Sallie White, left supporter of the vice grand; Almont Wing, inside guardian; and Thomas MacDonald, outside guardian.

Fitness fair

LEWISTON – A Fall Fitness Health Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, at Marshwood, 33 Roger St. There will be free health screens, education, relaxation ideas, snacks and prizes. Call Candy Greenwood at 784-0108 for more information.

Harvest dinner

AUBURN – New Auburn Seniors will host a harvest dinner at noon Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the St. Louis Church basement hall for members only. Cost is $3.

The regular meeting was held Oct. 5 with Virginia Levasseur, president, presiding. October birthdays were noted and small gifts given.

Members were asked to bring in pens, pencils, crayons and erasers for the children at St. Peter’s School.

Plans were made for a Christmas dinner, which will be held at Martindale, Sunday, Dec. 5. Social hour will be from 11 a.m. to noon with dinner following at noon. The dinner will be a buffet and entertainment will follow. Cost is $10 for paid-up members. Tickets will be on sale Wednesday, Nov. 3.

Members are planning to go to Julien’s in Gray, Monday, Oct. 18. Anyone interested can call Ginger at 783-0273 for details.

A trip to Atlantic City from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3 is being offered. Call Jean at 784-5264 for details. This is open to anyone interested.

Pot of gold winners were Mary Jean Cote, Henry Cimon, Leon Laplante and Nancy Cote.

A light lunch was served and bingo followed the meeting.
