CARTHAGE – The first fall meeting of the Carthage Historical Society will be held Tuesday, Oct. 19, in the old Carthage School building, beginning with a potluck supper at 5:30 p.m.

The program will be presented by Adrian Wells of the W.S. Wells and Sons cannery in Wilton. Under the Belle of Maine label, it is known as the only cannery in the USA that preserves and sells fiddleheads. It also cans dandelion greens and other local greens. W.S.
