LEWISTON – Bertrand L. Doyon, 75, of 123 Sixth St., Auburn, died Thursday, Oct. 14, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Born in Lewiston, May 9, 1929, a son of Conrad and Marieange Turgeon Doyon he was educated in Lewiston schools.

He served in the Maine Army National Guard and worked for many years and retired from Sears & Roebuck in the appliance department.

Mr. Doyon was a member of the Auburn Catholic Community at St. Louis Parish, Knights of Columbus Council 106 Lewiston, and the Past Time Club.

He relished life’s simple pleasure the most. His motto was “it’s the little things that matter.”

He took immense pleasure in nature, taking nature walks at his camp in Moosehead Lake, gardening with his wife and sharing his garden vegetables. He was a master chatter and a devoted husband, father and grandfather who always had hugs, kisses and time to share.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, the former Germaine J. Janelle, of Lewiston whom he married June 20, 1953; his daughter, Linda and husband, James Ross, of South Portland; his son, Daniel and wife, Linda Doyon, of Minot; his grandchildren, Selina Tardif, Stuart and Julia Ross, Michael Derosier and Kathy Tremblay; four great-grandchildren; his sisters, Yolande and husband, Normand Bissonnette, Joyce Johnson and Rita Gardner; many nieces and nephews who adored him.

He was predeceased by his sister, Theresa Frechette, and his brothers, Roland and Gerard.
