RUMFORD – The Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1248 has donated $500 toward the RxExpress prescription drug trip to Canada, sponsored by the Oxford County Democratic House and Senate candidates.

Sen. Bruce Bryant and Rep. John Patrick, members of the Rumford Eagles Club, met at the State House with Neena Quirion, executive director of the Maine Council of Senior Citizens, on Sept. 9 to discuss details of the trip, which was scheduled for Oct. 13 and 14.

Bryant and Patrick presented Quirion with the check from the Eagles Club on behalf of their fellow candidates, including Tim Carter of Bethel and Linda Petrie of Mexico.

The Eagles Club is celebrating its 100th anniversary and has a history of charitable contributions in the River Valley area.
