LEWISTON – The YWCA of Central Maine will begin swim lesson registration for the winter session on Monday, Oct. 25, for current YWCA members and Monday, Nov. 1, for non-members.

Swim lessons are offered Monday through Thursday morning, afternoon, and evenings and Saturday mornings. Classes are available for all abilities and ages.

The Y offers classes for ages 6 months to adult. Classes may be half hour or one hour, depending on level. Classes begin on Nov. 8 and are six to seven weeks in duration.

Adult swim lessons will be offered from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Fridays for six weeks.

Private swim lessons are also available by appointment. Participants of the YWCA swim lesson program must be members of the YWCA.

Membership to the YWCA is good for a year and includes free membership swims and other discounted program fees. YWCA membership fees are child (up to 12), $25; youth (13-17), $35; adult (18-59), $50; senior citizen (60+), $40.

A swim lesson schedule is available on the Web site or people can pick one up at the front desk at the YWCA, 130 East Ave.
