READFIELD – Maranacook High School National Honor Society inducted 24 members during a candle-lighting ceremony recently.
CSD 10 Superintendent Rich Abramson, Principal Lori Putnam and NHS Adviser Paula Weisberger gave the welcome and opening remarks, and closing remarks were given by Peter Burbank.
Current NHS members are Becky Brown, Felicia Cates, Elizabeth Kennedy, Kelly Neptune and Mitch Riley.
New members from the junior class are Shannon Bean, Jason Dodd, Denice LeVeen, Haley Schwartz, Bryce Spalding, Jane Tyler and Annah Young. New members from the senior class are Chris Bates, Peter Bedard, Lindsay Bourgoine, Jordanne Dunn, Emily Gaewsky, Logan Gerrity, Jennifer Gifford, Willy Herman, Paul Kim, Josh Lake, Nathaniel Meyer, Barclay Mitchell, Jaime Seaman, Kristin Smith, Anna Snow, Lesley Stevens and Kate Wheeler.
Members are selected on the basis of knowledge, leadership, service, scholarship and character.
