AUBURN – Robin Dow Senior Citizens will meet at 1 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, at the Alden M. Gayton Post 31, American Legion, 426 Washington St., for a Halloween lunch and meeting. Members are to bring their own coffee cups. There will be a raffle table.

Tickets will be on sale for the Thanksgiving dinner Nov. 10 at the Auburn United Methodist Church, Park Avenue, for $7, and for the Christmas dinner at Martindale on Dec. 10 for $8. Dues must be paid in order to attend either activity. There are no meetings in November or December. There were 74 present at the Oct. 13 meeting with President Dorothy Larrabee presiding. New members are Betty Bates, Louise Chabot, Georgette Berube and Jackie Lothrop. Lee Koss reported there would be a trip on Friday, Dec. 3, to the Indian Head Resort in Lincoln, N.H., at a cost of $44. Gift giving

LEEDS – The Rural Community Action Ministry will again be sponsoring the annual Christmas gift-giving program for children and elderly people. Requests will be taken beginning Oct. 26 and ending Dec. 3.

AUBURN – The Small Business Institute at Central Maine Community College is offering ” Understanding Workers Compensation,” a workshop for small business owners, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27. The cost is $40. LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners of the special Team Appreciation Game on Oct. 18 were: first, Cynthia Bonsey, Janice Wolfe, Eileen Potvin and Della Starbird; second, Allie Boyer, Barbara Beegel, Nancy Farmer and Marta Clements; third, Eleanor Griffin, Paul Beegel, Renette and Joe Reinhardt; fourth, Joan Bergeron, Jeanne Plourde, Anna Vitiello and Randy Silver.

Duplicate bridge

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on Oct. 19 at the Multi-Purpose Center. North/South winners in Flight A were: first, Fred Letourneau and Martine Begert; second, Jim Flanagan and Anna Vitiello; third, Randy Silver and Marguerite Zahoruiko. Flight B were: tie for first place, Doug and Betty Sise with Roger Briggs and Lucille Bilodeau. East/West winners in Flight A were: first, Dick Horne and Nancy Lindgren; second, Luke Merry and Joe Reinhardt; third, David Lock and Mary Leahey. Flight B winners were: first, Luke Merry and Joe Reinhardt; second, Hellen Little and Alberta Turner. Another game will be played at 9 a.m. Oct. 26 at the Multi-Purpose Center. A partner is guaranteed.

The club also met on Oct. 20 at Schooner Estates. Winners in Flight A were: first, Roger Briggs and Claire Lyons; tied at second, Anna Vitiello and Lucille Theriault with Paul Barber and Luke Merry; fourth, David Lock and Jeanine Kivus.
